ILLUSTRATE THE PAGE

Select a page from the selection you are currently reading. The page needs to contain strong evidence of setting, characterization, and symbolism. You are to illustrate these concepts with the textual evidence of the page in mind. You made use color if appropriate to the illustration of the page.

On the back of the back, explain the relationship between the setting, the character, and the symbol you chose.

BLACKOUT POETRY

Select the page from the novel, and photocopy it to fill an entire 8 ½ x 11 page either vertically or horizontally.
Draw squares or rectangles around the words you want to use to compose your poem. Make sure they are spread throughout the pages in various places, along various lines.
Draw and color a design that reinforces an image from your newly constructed poem that relates to the poem as well as the page from the novel.
On the back of the page, explain the art composition in detail in a well-developed paragraph.
